Amarwara

Amarwara is a small town in the beautiful forest of Satpura and located around 40 KM away from Chhindwara district headquarters. This scheduled tribe area is the oldest tahsil of Chhindwara district. It is famous for its forest and natural resources and a famous Market for Chironji / Charoli assort of dry fruit.

Amarwara has an average elevation of 796 meters (2611 feet) and it is located in 22.3 Deg. North (longitude) and 79.17 Deg. East (latitude).

Amarwara is well connected by road. It is located between Harrai and Chhindwara on Narsinghpur – Chhindwara State Highway.

As of India census 2001 Amarwara has population of 12,025 and average literacy rate of 82.33%.

  • Schools: Amarwara has primary to higher secondary schools.
  • College: Govt Degree College Amarwara was inaugurated by that time member of parliament and chief minister of Madhya Pradesh on 24th September 1984 as a arts college for under graduate courses. Later on in July 1986 college started under graduate courses of commerce stream also. In the year of 1997 college started Post Graduate classes for Hindi Literature and Political Science.
